Upper Mississippi River Fishing Report Spring 2026

Fishing has been great this Spring. As water temps continue to rise as we work into mid May we are starting to get some fish on topwater deer hair bugs. Big streamers low and slow have also produced some nice fish.

Some fish are still pre-spawn, some are spawning, and some are post spawn depending what section of the river you are fishing. Fishing farther up in the Mississippi River system has produced some great pre-spawn fish this week!

We have availability on the calendar this spring yet for guided fly fishing trips from the Minneapolis area all the way to Baxter, MN. Hope to see you on the water!
